Trunk build 2003-04-10: WinXP, Mac 10.1.5
Overview: Sender "Begins With" and "Ends With" are case sensitive within the
Filters and Mail Views dialogs.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the Filters dialog
2. Create a filter with the following criteria
"Sender" "Ends With" "Netscape.com" performs some action such as moved to a
specific folder.
3. Create/send/retrieve a message where the From field is in lower case (i.e.
test@netscape.com)
Actual Results: The message remains in the Inbox. If the filter is changed to
all lower case then it later succeeds in moving the message to the appropriate
folder.
Expected Results: "Begins With" and "Ends With" should be case insensitive.

In Mail Views I tried other criteria besides Sender and the problem also occurs
with "Subject", "To", "Cc", and "To or Cc".
Changing summary from 'Sender "Begins With" and "Ends With" is case sensitive
(effects Filters and Mail Views)" to '"Begins With" and "Ends With" is case
sensitive (Mail Views and Filters)".

Summary: Sender "Begins With" and "Ends With" is case sensitive (effects Filters and Mail Views) → "Begins With" and "Ends With" is case sensitive (Mail Views and Filters)

Ninoschka, you should've seen that duplicate before you opened and autoconfirmed
this one.

Yeah, you shoulda used MY bug! ;) j/k
Anyway, it looks like this is a dup of my bug (or the other way around... whatever).
Let's just make sure that all filter comparisons are case INsensitive.
Thanks guys (err, wait. Maybe I should say that AFTER there is a patch checked in?)
:-D

Bug 199230 does not show up if you search MailNews/Filters for "begins"
even though its subject line matches.
Thats probably why the dup was not discovered.

Patch for bug 254740 has fixed the sensitivity issue for these match modes, for
most applications: filtering and quicksearch, and searching local folders, will
all work as expected. Searching IMAP folders is a different problem.

I've noticed that searching for IMAP messages doesn't even *allow* Begins With /
Ends With as match modes -- so I'm marking this fixed, as a result of the patch
at bug 254740. Tested with TB 1.0+0222.
