Under the Junk Control dialog, I have the "Automatically delete junk messages
older than ... days" set to 1 day and it is checked. Even after two days,
when opening MailNews, the junk mail isn't deleted. Using 1.4a on a Win2KPro
system.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Set "Automatically delete junk messages older than ... days" to 1 day and check.
2.close browser/mail client
3.Next day or even two days later, reopen and the junk mail isn't deleted.
Actual Results:
Nothing happens to the junk mail in the Junk folder.
Expected Results:
All the messages within the Junk folder should be deleted as specified
by the Junk Controls setting.

I take back my comment 3. After enabling the "Automatically delete junk ..."
option and restarting Mozilla, nothing happens. The first deletion occurs one
day later.
Which event triggers the folder cleanup?

I have the same problem, running under Win2K. Maybe this is a bug that's
Win2K-specific? The other thing that I've noticed about this is that I have
multiple e-mail accounts, and I have selected the "Auto-delete mail marked as
junk in the junk mail folder" option and have all accounts set to the default of
14 days. On SOME of my accounts, the mail is auto-deleted. But on OTHER
accounts, it just sits in the folder. I now have a folder that has 2604 messages
marked as junk, stemming back 20 days (and auto-delete has been set to 14 days).
Note that in 1.3.1, auto-delete worked as specified.
I have the exact same problem except for the fact that it never worked for me
(since the introduction of the junk filter). Also note that this bug isn't
Windows only: have a look at bug http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?
id=195047
I also think this bug isn't minor, but should be prioritized normal.

Note that discussion in the possible duplicate bug 195047 has identified that
the failure to delete the mail doesn't occur for *all* accounts: apparently the
automatic deletion occurs for at least one account, but not for the others.
This matches with comment 5; reporter (Ed), is that your experience as well? If
so, this bug should be marked a duplicate of that one.

Yes, I do experience the same issue. In fact, 6 out
of the 7 accounts seem to work. The last one doesn't
seem to have its junk deleted. I have junk mail
dated last month (I had the # of days set to 10 before,
then 1... but it made no difference).
