Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030507
When mail is started, registers number of messages on the server and then does
not download them. When the get messages icon is clicked message appears "This
folder is being processed. Please wait until processing finishes to download
messages."
Mail can be left open for hours and processing never finishes. Can go to other
accounts and have not problem with download of messages. Just on main account.
Delete account and recreate...will download first time...end up with processing
message every time after that.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log onto mail
2. Click get messages icon
3.
Actual Results:
Get this message: "This folder is being processed. Please wait until processing
finishes to download messages." Cannot download email without removing and
recreating account. No notification of new messages.
Expected Results:
Would like to download email everytime and get email notifications.

Reporter, can you try to remove the Mailbox Summary File (*.msf file) for this
mailbox ? You'll find it in your profile directory (ImapMail or Mail
sub-directory). When that file is missing, it will be recreated.
A few weeks ago I had the same problem, possibly caused by a bad header in the
mailbox on my IMAP-server. I tried all tricks I knew, like removing the *.msf
file, editting the copy of the mailbox in the profile directory, removing the
entire local copy, ... nothing worked. Mozilla kep on downloading the same mail,
and never finished. In the end I could only correct the problem by editting the
remote mailbox directly. I couldn't see anything wrong, but removing the entire
mail (it was a very large one, more than 3 MB) did the trick.

I have tried removing the .msf file, and other things that were suggested. None
of them worked. I tried removing the .msf file again before replying...and get
only a partial rebuild of the summary. The process hangs and that seems to be
the cause of the error message that I am receiving. I have actually let it run
for 4 hours and the process is not finished.

Heidi Poulin: since your email address (for this report) is attbi.com, this bug
is likely the same as the marked duplicate. This was "fixed" but recently
reported a problem again after the switchover to comcast.com.
