Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030319 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030319 (Also tried latest 1.4rc1 build for Sun Solaris 2.8, bug still there) When I edit a msg in my mail composer window, the first line of text (or after having pressed 'enter') is navigable. As soon as this line gets wrapped round, I am unable to move back along a word, or forward (after having placed the cursor somewhere in the wrapped part of the line) using the arrow keys. Pressing the left arrow key does nothing, i.e. cursor stays at the same point at the end of the line. Placing the cursor somewhere along the wrapped line using the mouse and then pressing the right arrow key sends the cursor to the beggining of the next wrapped line. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Type a line until it is wrapped round. 2.Press the left arrow key to try to move back, nothing should happen 3.Place the cursor in the wrapped part of the line using the mouse, then press the right arrow key. Cursor should jump to end of line or beginning of next wrapped line. Actual Results: already detailed in steps to reproduce Expected Results: cursor should move one character back each time the left arrow key is pressed, and one character forward each time the right arrow key is pressed. Please Note! 1. I am reporting this on mozilla v1.3, but I have tested for this bug on the latest version as well, v1.3.1, and v1.4rc1, and both of these builds have this bug on the Sun platform. I will try to test it on the windows plaform to see if I can reproduce. I will post another report when I have this info. 2. This bug also affects the text editor embeded in the mozilla browser, ie when filling in forms (such as this bug report form) bug is identical to the mail composer. 3. This bug appeared after release 1.1. I first noticed it in v1.2, and I found at that time a bug that described this problem. However, when I searched for this bug I was unable to locate it either in the closed bug archive or the open bug archive. For v1.2, the bug had been reported by a windows platform user, and I added an additional report for the sun platform.... I realise that the original bug report may still be out there, in which case please accept my apologies for the duplication.

Sorry, but point (3) in the section "Steps to Reproduce" should read: 3. Place the cursor in the wrapped part of the line using the mouse, then press the right arrow key. Cursor jumps to end of line or beginning of next wrapped line.

Appears to be a duplicate of the old Solaris bug http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178735

Yes, I can confirm this bug is a duplicate of bug (178735). Sorry, I did try looking for it but hadn't been able to find it. Sorry for the waste of time. I guess the bug can be closed and pointed to the other one. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 178735 ***
