As wonderful as Mozilla is, it does still tend to crash now and then. While
many of you may say that this is what you have to put up with when using Open
Source software, I prefer to feel otherwise.
Well, as someone who does a LOT of web browsing and will tend to have many
windows and tabs open, a crash can be VERY frustrating. If you had 20 different
pages open which you had planned to get back to and didn't bookmark because you
didn't want to keep the link after you read it, and the broswer crashed,
wouldn't you be a little ticked off? And so when you bring the browser back up,
you have to spend a day sifting through the History trying to find the pages you
had open.
Even questionable word processors have crash recovery where they keep track of
where you were before the crash. You might lose a LITTLE data, but not much.
Why doesn't Mozilla do the same thing? Sounds like a serious oversight to me.
I consider serious usability problems like this to be BUGS, and so I am
reporting it as such. Mozilla needs a History "mode" which orders pages by when
they were CLOSED (by crash or otherwise), rather than when they were OPEN.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open lots of pages at once
2.crash Mozilla
3.
Actual Results:
I couldn't recover the pages I had open before the crash.
Expected Results:
Keep track of what pages I had open before the crash and let me open then
(selectively... one of the pages could have caused the crash).
