Many companies force users to change their passwords every couple of months. If you have 'remember password' turned on and the server rejects the password, we shouldn't try to log in again with the same password. We should clear out our stored password from the password manager and re-prompt the user for the new password.
Blocks: bms
Mozilla should ask for a new password if you get a password/username error but not with other login errors. It should overwrite an existing password/username if you enter new login data and check "remember".
Christian and I have discussed this at length. The bug as described here has been fixed and is a dup (I'll look the up dup). The actual bug remaining is http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160425, we forget the password on any logon error.
duping. I thought I remembered seeing this get fixed recently. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 214217 ***
