Whenever I click on a link to an executable file, the dialog box that pops up
gives me the option of saving the file to disk, but not to run it from its
current location. This isn't a problem in itself, but when the link points to an
executable on a local drive, for example, a CD rom disk, it should give me the
option to run it directly from the CD. I find this particularly annoying when I
get cover CDs from various computer magazines that have links to installation
programs all through it. I don't want to save the installation program to the
hard disk, I just want to run it. Instead, I have to find the file myself and
run it using a file manager, which is annoying.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a HTML file with a link to a .exe file in it (which should be a local
file).
2. open it in mozilla (or firebird)
3. click on the link.
Actual Results:
It gives me the "option" of saving the file, even when it's already on this
computer.
Expected Results:
Given me the option to just run it directly
Both mozilla and firebird do this, the bug should be fixed for both of them.
There was no crash, just annoyance.
