Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create IMAP account 2. Create folder with name like 'a/b' (with backslash) 3. Select it. 4. Enjoy :-)
oops... correction. 'a/b' -> 'a\b'
Summary: Mozilla (Thunderbird) goes into deadloop while selecting 'a/b' folder. → Mozilla (Thunderbird) goes into deadloop while selecting 'a\b' folder.
This is a dupe (invalid name for the Filesystem)
Whiteboard: DUPEME
Why invalid? IMAP _support_ slashes in the folder name.
yeah, not invalid. If the name is invalid for the file system, we should prevent it in the UI...but this should be allowed - what IMAP server are you using?

How filesystem related with IMAP protocol? :-) IMAP supports slashes in folder's name. I can create such folder without any problems (via webmail or using another client). > what IMAP server are you using? CommunigatePro, Cyrus. But IMHO this bug don't depend with the server implementation.
this works for me - what version of Mozilla are you using? I did get a an error from the parser (which the user wouldn't see) when parsing the response to the list of the folder, but other than that, I can select the folder, copy messages into it, read messages, etc.
> this works for me - what version of Mozilla are you using? ThunderBird "current" (from ~17 september).
can you recreate the bug and attach an imap protocol log of the session by following these instructions? Thx. http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#imap
can you try a recent thunderbird build and let me know if it still does this?
any further news on reproducing this with a recent build? Otherwise, I'll have to mark this wfm. thx!
