Temporary files can be found in ImapMail folder of the users hard drive. These
files appear to contain infomation about the user's mail folder. This seems to
affect mostly laptop users. Users have the option "Make the messages in my
Inbox available when I am working offline" checked.
This appears to happen because the user shuts down there machine and when
Mozilla is closing, during the shutdown process, it is unable to compress the
files in time. We use roaming profiles on the network.
Client Machine: Windows 2000 SP4
File server: SuSE 7.3 (Samba 2.2.8a)
Mail server: SuSE 7.3 (Cyrus 2.0.16)
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Mozilla Mail
2. Let any new mail come down
3. Shutdown machine - Start - Shut Down - Shut Down
Actual Results:
Temporary files in ImapMail:
prf138.tmp (313M)
prf13A.tmp (296M)
prfA9.tmp (177M)
Expected Results:
Removed large temporary files.

yes, we need to prevent/warn the user about shutting down while a compaction is
going on.

Compact has been reworked since then, so I don't think a shutdown interruption is necessary.
As to the point of this report, I could not reproduce by forcing a shutdown. But I think there should be a leftover .tmp, so perhaps I missed something
