They were still there in the directory, but i could only import them after i added a page i was visiting as a bookmark. The empty bookmark toolbar doesn't work. I can't put bookmarks in it. I think this thing happened because I edited some update options of a bookmark in the bookmark toolbar yesterday. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. probably put a bookmark in the bookmark toolbar 2. edit its update options, then uncheck update options later (as i did) 3. restart system Actual Results: i can't edit bookmark toolbar myself now

I don't think it's a duplicate of bug# 218636, because my bookmarks-toolbar doesn't work anymore. It stays empty and it's impossible to put bookmarks in it.

your bookmarks file is 99% likely to be corrupted if you're seeing that symptom, the real fix is to have a more robust backup system, hence the duplication *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 218636 ***
