Q: so it is the mail server responding that it is unhappy with your IP address...

A: I am not able to decipher the error message. I posted it at
http://leonardo.bryant.edu/pub/Moz/Moz_SMTP_030926_1840_.gif
I am not sure that it is the smtp server that I am using: 192.124.153.44
that is responding with this error message.......

Can you please try and attach a protocol log for SMTP to this bug (as plain
text)?
Instructions for generating one can be found at
http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#imap (please
substitute SMTP where it says IMAP).
Thanks!

The SMTP log I got is placed at --
http://leonardo.bryant.edu/pub/Moz/Moz_SMTP_030927_0231_.log
The 12.91.42.37 is my current dhcp address dynamically allocated to me by my
ISP (ATT)
The 192.124.153.44 is the smtp server I have been using for eight years and
which is working flawlessly with Mozilla nightly build 20030911
The error message is placed at --
http://leonardo.bryant.edu/pub/Moz/Moz_SMTP_030927_0225_.gif
In the log, the error message ""The domain you are trying to send mail to does
not exist"" is totally incorrect because the domain leonardo.bryant.edu
(192.124.153.44) is alive and has been alive for eight years....

Michel, what happens if you're sending mail to an other recipient?
Hm, he server answers with "220 sitefinder.verisign.com VeriSign mail rejector
(Postfix)". Mail rejector? Interesting.
Even more interesting is what I get if I telnet 192.124.153.44:
"220 leonardo -- Server ESMTP (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.1 (built May 7 2001))"
That looks better.
You still have the same problem? Maybe it was a temporary redirect.

This one looks to me like a dupe to bug 219449.
Could you please check if your problem still occurs when using a build with the
fix from bug 219376 (which is the bug, 219449 was duped against)?

Reply to #8 From Christian Eyrich
I can now send and receive emails from 192.124.153.44 without any problem
using build 20031004
Thanks !
Michel
