Did you choose to install the Personal Security Manager when you installed the nightly build? To use sites that require SSL like mail.yahoo.com you have to have it installed.

Bug 224340 v1.6a is missing PSM module: SSL protocols like HttpS, Pop3/Ssl, ... are unavailable The 1.6a release was missing the PSM Module, this is fixed now, please download again. Feel free to reopen, if this doesn´t fix your problem. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 224340 ***
