User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7

When I go to the "Message Filters" window I would like to be able to display the
messages alphabetically. Usually this happens if one clicks on the
"Filter Name" heading button. But on all recent versions of Thunderbird
including 0.4, clicking on the "Filter Name" button does nothing. Perhaps it
is my environment because I can find no discussion about this problem anywhere
on the web. I have been using Thunderbird as my main mail interface for many
months and everything else is ok

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. got to Message Filters Window, with multiple filters listed
2.click on "Filtern Name" heading button
3.

Actual Results:
Nothing happens wrt to the displayed message filters

Expected Results:
Reorder the displayed message filters according to the filter name.

Sorting by that method is to be expected given the common interface, but in this
case it's not desired. In the filtering window, a specific order to the filters
may be needed, and sorting alphabetically would ruin the order. For instance,
the user may want a filter titled "Work" to be run before the filter titled
"Bob" or something of the sort.

As such, I can't imagine that alphabetical filtering would be desired in that
interface. If you really would like alphabetical filtering, then use the Move
Up and Move Down buttons to manually reorder them.
I agree with comment 1, but several commenters at the dupe claim that this
feature used to be available.

Yes, and it did only a visual sort, so one could find a certain filter more
quickly. The run order of the filters was not affected.
