However the text input field in on top of the first comment. Unless you have an excellent mind, you'll have to scroll back and forth to read the comment you are referring to. Therefore I suggest to move the textarea input field after the last comment. If you are worried about scrolling to that relocated input field, consider adding a link like "add additional comment". I think that the "reply" feature in the current Bugzilla makes this much less of a problem, since it's less necessary to go back and forth. -M

Sure, you can expect the user to delete the excess text, but anyone who has been the recipient of a mass-forward (or read the usenet, etc.) can tell you that, by and large, most people won't. This just seems ugly to me. I'd second the request for the additional comments to be placed after the comments block.

The version of Bugzilla running on this site (bugzilla.mozilla.org) has a setting under "General Preferences" called "Position of the additional comments box". This preference can be set to "before other comments", "after other comments", or the site default. But in the 3.0.2 system I maintain, no such preference option exists. Was this a local customization by the Mozilla people? Any chance of getting this option added to the standard Bugzilla?
