I would like to be able to enable logging of POP3/SMTP communication. Outlook
Express has it at least since 4.x. I think there is some environment variable
(NSPR_LOG_MODULES) that can enable it. But there is no preference for it. And
this is the point of this FRE. OE has this setting in the main UI, Mozilla could
have an advanced pref for it, at least.

This is NOT a duplicate.  This is asking for logging for a particular part of
Mozilla where the logging would be user-understandable.  The other bug is asking
for user access to all possible logs Mozilla could generate (things like OS MIME
lookups, full HTTP networking logs, etc), selection of which logs to generate,
etc.  Fixing bug 193873 would indeed "fix" this, in a totally braindead way --
the log it generates is for ease of debugging Mozilla code, not for actual
understanding by someone not familiar with the code.

sorry for the spam.  making bugzilla reflect reality as I'm not working on these bugs.  filter on FOOBARCHEESE to remove these in bulk.
