User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 Trying to connect to http://localhost when I don't have a web server bound to the loop back at port 80 seems to be ok, but when I attempt to specify an alternative port I get a strange redirect. An example (I was going to ssh redirect to a remote VNC servers java client on 5800 but forgot to establish ssh tunnel first) http://localhost:5800 fails and Firebird defaults/finds (somehow) http://www.localhost.net.au/ which is a particularly annoying page to end up at. I'd give you the version of Firebird I'm running but I can't seem to "Help --> About Mozilla Firebird" to work having already followed the credits link to the Mozilla site once (another bug? didn't search for this one anyhow, maybe it's just my installation) E-mail me if you need further details / version numbers. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firebird 2. Type http://localhost:5800 on the URL line (assuming 5800 is not a valid web server) 3. Get redirected to some clever Aussie's web page Actual Results: Inappropriate redirection Expected Results: Failed to connect I think it's pretty well covered in the description, let me know if you need more detail. sorry, this is the first one of these I've submited, appologies in advance.
I'm running Firebird 0.7, guess the "About" window was left open and hidden behind a newly opened window (my bad).

Geeknik: what happens when there is no webserver on port 80 and you type: http://localhost ? Does it still go to www.localhost.net.au ? If so, this is a possible duplicate of bug 178123.
