User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686) Gecko/20031119 Galeon/1.3.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20031119 I am running mozilla 1.4 on rh 9 and ximian xd2. When I load slashdot.org, it starts loading web page, then just dies without any error message. Same for most webpages. A simple web page loads. If I run moz as root, it works fine. I also used Moz Firebird (0.7). The non gtk2 XFT version loads slashdot fine. The gtk+xft version crashes for non-root. If I set the option to force web sites to use my default font, I can display slashdot. I found a directory that had ttf fonts that were readable only by root. I made them world readable, and I could load slashdot.org (with its fonts) without crash. I think most websites that specify fonts would have crashed Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.see above 2. 3. Actual Results: when loading, say slashdot.org, mozilla said "starting to load" then just exited without any messages. Expected Results: Displayed the website.
