Bug 222796 is about standard extensions for Firebird and Mozilla. Just to
repeat, standard extensions would be extensions maintained by Mozilla.org.
This bug is about the creation of a web page, that would be linked to from the
Firebird start page, that has a list and allows you to download all the
extensions maintained by Mozilla.org (1st-party extensions).
This page would also contain a link to http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/ and any
other extension repositories or lists.

The page in question http://texturizer.net/firebird/extensions/ does not have a
seperate section for extensions maintained by Mozilla.org. Reopening.

This page would be categorized, and also contain a list of the Default Bundles'
(bug 214269) members so you can re-download them easily one-by-one in case you
remove them.

Summary: Create a "standard extensions web" page → Create a "standard extensions web" page (also include Default bundles)

what extensions does mozilla.org maintain?

This is a bug opened for when bug 214269 gets fixed. Right now, most
extensions such as autoscroll were either integrated or left 3rd party. That
will change when bug 214269 is fixed. Adding dependency.
Depends on: 214269

It's getting there, but as of yet update.mozilla.org doesn't differentiate ones
maintained by Mozilla.org (Default bundles) and the ones maintained by third
parties, nore have a way to get to the "Default bundles". I don't see a "Default
Bundles" section yet.

A standard extensions web page wouldn't live on www.mozilla.org, so I'm changing the product to addons.mozilla.org for further discussion.

To be honest, I don't think this would make much sense. The least extensions are "official" Mozilla extensions, and by giving them preferential treatment over others, we would do them an injustice, as many "third-party" add-ons have very high quality.
Therefore, I am inclined to dupe this against bug 456130, which is currently being worked on and will result in a list of excellent add-ons particularly appropriate for first-time users.
CCing morgamic to have him make the final call.

I agree with wenzel - there are other ways to feature add-ons if that's what we want to do.
