Details

User-Agent: Build Identifier: Thunderbird 0.5 In Thunderbird 0.5 when clicking on a javascript link a window is opened in IE instead of Firefox, my default browser. All other types of links open in Firefox correctly. Here is an example of the link: javascript: void window.open('http://www.slingshot.co.nz/help', '_blank') Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on Javascript link within Thunderbird 0.5 2. IE window opens 3. Expected Results: Firefox window should open
I have a similar problem except the link fails entirely. Currently I get either a blank new window or a message: "www.XXX.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again." Yesterday the link opened the proper site but as a file on my hard drive (stripping out the http://www.XXX.com and replacing it with file:///C/Documents... etc.) rather than an http URL. the workaround for all of these is simply to copy the link into firebird/fox.
I have a very similar problem. I am using Mac OSX (10.2.8). All HTML links within e-mails cause Safari to open up instead of my default, Firefox.
Confirming with version 0.7 (20040616) Updating platform per comment 2 Mozilla 1.8a3 does nothing with this link (similar to comment 1). Options|Advanced, "Enable Javascript in mail messages" is unchecked.
