I'm sorry, if this is a dupe, but it is a whole lot of work to find an appropriate bug in the zillions of focus bugs. I'm using Firefox on Debian Unstable with ion window manager (http://iki.fi/tuomov/ion/). As far as I know, this window manager has been programmed with ICCCM-compatibility in mind, also due to the rather unusual look&feel of the WM. However, Firefox manages to be "smarter" that the window manager, for example, in some cases the WM's focus is not the Firefox's focus (keys are being cathed by an inactive window) and sometimes, WM's keybindings stop responding. An example for this bug: 1. Install ion2. 2. Start Firefox and go into the location bar. 3. Type something, so that autocomplete shows 4. While autocomplete is shown, try using ion's keybindings - it fails. None of them work. 5. As soon as the autocomplete bar disappears, the bindings work again.

This happens in fvwm2 as well.

I've looked into the other bug - it's not duplicate, as the other bug has nothing to do with the problem. The problem is that, IF the autocomplete bar is open THEN the keybindings of the window manager do not work. This is not connected to working/non-working dialogs and so - Mozilla is fully functional at that moment, it's the WM's keybindings, that aren't.

What build do you use (branch/trunk, release/alpha/nightly (which exactly?), mozilla.org/debian-supplied)?

At the moment I am running 2.0.0.1, Compiled on my Gentoo computer. But this has been happening for years. I think since early 1.0 days.
