User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 In Mozilla 1.6 for Windows and Mozilla Firefox 0.8 for Windows, using JRE 1.4.2_03, loading this specific Java applet causes subsequent text to be entered in a random manner, sometimes before and sometimes after the cursor. This includes the URL bar, the search bar in Firefox, and all HTML input boxes in other tabs. In Mozilla 1.6, the problem ends after navigating to a new page. In Firefox, the browser must be restarted for problemless input. This does not happen in IE6 SP1, or in Mozilla 1.5-3 (Debian) using JRE 1.4.1-01. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to above link 2. Click on shirt image 3. Wait for page with Java applet to load 4. After applet loads completely, use mouse to move focus to URL bar, and begin typing Actual Results: Text is entered in random order, sometimes before, and sometimes after cursor. Expected Results: Entered text from left to right consistently.
I can reproduce this bug, by attempting to type into a textarea (search bar, google bar, URL location) when an applet is loading. This bug appears to be a duplicate with 260772, 265001, and 269973, so I'll leave it up to the devs to decide which to dupe and which to leave open.
