Having used some other bug-reporting systems, one of the ways Bugzilla could be
usefully enhanced to avoid dupes and failures to identify bugs that have already
been filed would be to use some AI functionality to guide the user through a
locally-defined decision tree of the more likely complaints, which could proceed
to any depth, and perhaps then present the most recent postings to the same
point in the tree. The user would always have the option of "other", and the
postings to "other" would be used to develop more breakout keywords.
The tree-navigation choices would then suggest keywords to be included in the
Summary line. If the submitter didn't like them, he would be free to use others,
but if they fit and he used them, it would make it easier for people to find the
report in a search.
