User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040207 Firefox/0.8 Left-right scrolling with second mouse wheel used to work with previous releases (namely Firebird 0.7 and Mozilla-1.4.. also works in thunderbird 0.5). It doesn't work anymore with firefox. Looks like firefox interprets second wheel (ie. buttons 6 and 7 mapped by 'Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7"' in XF86Config) as click on the first (ie. left) mouse button - highlighting word and line consequently. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Keywords: regression
does this work in Mozilla 1.6?

This is true for Firefox 0.9 on OS X as well (only the second mouse wheel is mapped to the forward/back commands). This is *really* annoying. Mozilla 1.6 OS X exhibits the correct (old) behavior, but Mozilla 1.7.2 exhibits the buggy (forward/back) behavior. Please, please, please, please, *PLEASE* fix this...its' driving me batty....

Sorry, but this is really a dupe of bug 231718 (where even the necessary hidden prefs are listed which can be used in about:config to "fix" this).
