I am not sure if this is supposed any more or whether this is the new standard that does the same kind of thing : http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-i18n-format/ Ideally implementing this would be great :) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. This css property is not supported 2. 3.

This is how is should display... Thanks mike
This looks more like rotated text. bz: Is there already an RFE for this somewhere (AFAIK all font rendering APIs (Win32/GDI, X11 und Mac) support rotated text... we would only need support for that in gfx/ and layout/).
Summary: This page is supposed to render vertical text : → This page is supposed to render rotated text
"vertical" is correct, Roland. As for existing bugs, maybe. This is currently at an early standardization stage in CSS3, so we may not have any bugs on it (following the "don't file bugs on CSS3 stuff until it's in CR" policy). And yes, this would "just" need layout support.
Summary: This page is supposed to render rotated text → This page is supposed to render vertical text
Boris Zbarsky wrote: > "vertical" is correct, Roland. For me "vertical" is something like mongolian (e.g. glyphs are rendered ttb,ltr (=from top to bottom, then left to right) instead of ltr, ttb) ,,, but maybe I am wrong here...

This is probably a duplicate of bug 145503 (writing-mode), since 'layout-flow' isn't in the 'css3-text; specification. (Or should this go to evangelism for IE-parity etc.?)

Attachment #142143 - Attachment is obsolete: true
<http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/properties/layoutflow.asp> > This is a deprecated property; use the writingMode property instead. If even MS thinks this is deprecated, Mozilla shouldn't even try implementing this. Marking as DUPLICATE of the writing-mode bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 145503 ***
