Details
Build: 20040329 Firefox/0.8.0+
Platform: 10.3.3
Expected Results: Mac Firefox should recognize and use the system download
folder path by default
What I got: After changing the system default folder(from Desktop to
/Users/username/Public), Firefox doesn't recognize or support this folder path
automatically
Steps to reproduce:
1) Launch Safari and go to File- Preferences
2) Change to save downloaded files from current folder to the User's Public
folder. Click Ok. This now changes the system defualt folder to Public. Quit Safari.
3) Launch Firefox and select Mozilla Firebird -Preferences
4) Click on Downloads. Notice the dl folder is Desktop. Ideally, Firebird SHOULD
pickup and use the new system default folder path.

I think that this UI feature/wart is still in.
At the very least the preference dialogue should have the option
of using the currently selected Downloads Folder. This is the
option I would select if it were available.
The same thing applies to 'Home page'; it ought to be possible to
set Firefox to use the system Home page rather than the one last
selected in Firefox preferences.
This is not a bug, Firefox behaves as it should behave at the moment. This can
only be a feature request, requesting that Firefox shall behave differently in
the future.

On 10.3 and above, this is a Safari-only pref (which will be imported by the
Safari Profile Migrator). -> WONTIFIX.
