Maybe the two could be integrated somehow and you could choose what to email (selected tasks, selected events, both). Either way works. This is very similar to bug 204611 which was marked as a duplicate of bug 203638. There is discussion of emailing tasks taking place there. You may want to mark this bug as a duplicate.

This would be a natural extension of iTIP (and is one of the things iTIP is supposed to be used for). I think we will want this after we have iTIP for VEVENTs. Confirming the enhancement request.
