Looks related to bug 226145, but this doesn't interfere with typing in the dialogs as there is no action bound to the menu items in these windows. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. From main window, open up the Search dialog 2. Type into one of the next fields letters F, N, etc Actual Results: 'Go' or 'Message' window flashes as the letter is typed. Expected Results: There should be no such flash. For that matter, the menu items in question should be disabled or disappeared altogether in these windows.

good first patch for someone. I'm sure this is in seamonkey too.

I can't seem to reproduce this now on OS X using a 0.8 nightly. I wonder if something fixed it or if I'm just not trying hard enough.

In the dialogs, it seems to be fixed in 0.7.1 as well. How nice. :) I'd mark the bug FIXED, but I seem to have reported it with the wrong account accidentally.
