User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 When I minimize the calendar, its tab appears in the taskbar. Instead, since this is an application that should run mostly in the background, there should be an option (in the preferences) to minimize the window into the system tray. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Minimize the calendar 2. 3. Actual Results: The calendar is minimized into the taskbar Expected Results: It should be possible to minimize the calendar into the system tray
...why do you feel it should run in the background/system tray... Also, installed as Sunbird, Firefox Extension, Thunderbird Extension, or Suite Extension?
(In reply to comment #1) Well, this is a calendar program, so it should run in the background, so to speak, and remind me of events every once in a while; I don't want (and don't need) to see it in my taskbar. Installed as stand-alone Sunbird.
Well I would agree that we need a task-item for alarms, in suite I *think* it works when calendar itself is installed as an xpi. I don't believe it is a high priority to make the functionality for sunbird just yet, since Sunbird can't be worked on as a final product until Calendar's Roadmap for 1.0 is achieved. Though since you said it is Sunbird I can understand your comment.
