WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8a) Gecko/20040515 I tested this first popups unblocked, then blocked, and both times the popup covered the left half of my screen from top to bottom. I´m working on 800x600 on Win98, cookies allowed for session. The JS console came up and was showing me a lot of warnings. I don´t often see popups, though enabled, I remember some to be shown centered to the lower right edge of the window, so you see only a fourth of them, and they don´t cover your window unwantedly. If they are annoying kill them, if you want to see them, maximize or drag.

Ilka: This'll be all better if you'll unmaximize your browser window and fix its restored position. Even without that, a nightly build made 2004-05-10 or later (trunk or 1.7 branch) will force the window entirely onscreen. Admittedly it would be better if a new, unpositioned window's default position were relative to the current browser's position, maximized or not. That will fall out of the patch in bug 203590. Um, I don't know what the "and sometimes errors" part of this bug's summary refers to. If you want to bring attention to that, whatever it is, please file a new bug for that problem alone.
