User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8
A URL pointing to the local file system sometimes contains a vertical bar.
Example: file:///c|/html/index.html. The browser displays such pages correctly
but trying to set it as home page leads to absurd results.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter a URL in the address bar that contains a vertical bar. It may look like
file:///c|/html/index.html. Or import Netscape bookmarks referencing HTML files
on your local harddisk.
2. Open such a page. The page displays correctly.
3. Try to set the page as the browser's home page (Tools / Options / Home Page /
Locations / Use Current Pages).
4. Click the Home button.
Actual Results:
Firefox opens two tabs instead of one, both empty or showing unexpected content.
The built-in search function may even open completely unexpected Internet pages
(http://www.htmlgoodies.com in the above example).
Expected Results:
Open one tab with the specified local page.
The vertical bar in the URL is used ambiguously in Firefox.
Additional suggestion (not related with the reported bug): It would be nice if
there were two buttons: 'Use Current Page' and 'Use Current Pages'.

Yes, I can not set this url as my home page.
http://www.google.com/dictionary?langpair=en|zh-CN
it always open two tab, and complain zh-CN cannot be found.
Need use better way to support multiple pages for home page. e.g. should use
\r\n as separator -- since no one can type \r\n in url.
I just tested this bug on 3.6.3
