Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040615 Firefox/0.9
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040615 Firefox/0.9
After using the installer from firefox-0.9-i686-linux-gtk2+xft-installer.tar.gz
as root to attempt a system-wide install, FF hangs when an ordinary user tries
to manage either Saved Passwords or Certificates.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
0. run firefox-installer as root to install into /usr/lib/firefox-0.9/
1. as ordinary user, execute /usr/lib/firefox-0.9//usr/lib/firefox-0.9/firefox
2. (If this is first run, choose import and import bookmarks, saved passwords,
and everything else from Mozilla 1.x)
3. Open Edit>Preferences>Advanced and try to use either Manage Saved Passwords
or Certificates
Actual Results:
Hang
Expected Results:
A further panel for managing whatever appears
I tend to believe that this is because the installer is not suited to multi-user
installs, not least since the firefox-installer script is larder with (eeew!)
windows-ism, and its UI uses windows-speak.

Upon further investigation, this seems to be unrelated to the installer and,
moreover, only applies to the management of certificates. My apologies for the
initial mis-report. I hop bugzilla will accept my re-classification.

comment #2 seems correct, this should 1)be a dupe and 2)be fixed by now
