I can't find the bug I'm presumably duping here, I can't be first one one having
this problem, but just in case I am, here's the report:

Firefox 0.9 (Gecko/20040614 Firefox/0.9)
Themes installed: (default), Qute (2.1.2) , FirefoxMopdern (0.7.1)

Upon slecting a theme and pressing the "Use Theme" button, the UI gets messed
up. After a restart everything is ok.

This was a clean install of 0.9 and also occured before any extensions were
installed.

This is what it look slike after switching the default to Qute and then to
FirefoxModern.

Yes, thank you for pointing the way, that looks like the bug I was looking for.
And I would be tempted to agree with Ben: this should "just work" for 1.0.

But I think my screenshot is nicer ;-).
