I've upgraded from TB 0.6 to 0.7. TB didn't find my old profile. It wanted to create new account. I used profile manager to look what is going on. It displayed my old account, but the path to profile, which shows in tooltip was wierd. I did some experiments and found a solution. Note that I have Czech version of Windows 2000 which had international characters in path to the profile directory. I've found the profile.ini file with this content: [General] StartWithLastProfile=1 [Profile0] Name=default IsRelative=0 Path=C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\PALI\DATA APLIKACĂ­\Thunderbird\Profiles\default\p7mvm3vz.slt Default=1 Note that correct path on my system is: C:\Documents and Settings\pali\Data aplikací\Thunderbird\Profiles\default\p7mvm3vz.slt Solution that worked is this: [General] StartWithLastProfile=1 [Profile0] Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/default/p7mvm3vz.slt Default=1 I used relative path. It did not work in first attempt. I had to change slashes to unix(web) convention, to make it work. This is almost certainly related to bug 247552. Setting dependency and matching severity.
