On the given page, I noticed that I had to click a listbox 3 times for it to
open. It always appears to be 3 times. Unless I have already clicked the
component 3 times. Then I can select other components in the form and come back
to this component and I only have to click it once for it to open.
I should only have to click any listbox once for it to open. Not 3 times.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to webpage with listbox items.
2. Try to open listbox.
3. Required to click 3 times before it will open.
Actual Results:
Lots of clicking.
Expected Results:
Should only have to click once.

this is a dupe of bug 149981 - must click three times on <select> form controls
before dropdown appears when pref browser.display.focus_ring_on_anything is enabled.

re-opening. This bug was incorrectly marked duplicate of bug 149981 , which has
similar symptoms, but only occurs when the obscure gui-less pref
browser.display.focus_ring_on_anything is enabled. The reporter of this bug did
NOT have that pref enabled. (see bug 149981 comment 21)

Is this bug caused by :focus or browser.display.use_focus_colors and
browser.display.focus_(text&background)_color? If so maybe it is related to bug
163503.

This happens on Linux and Solaris, but not on Windows XP. Seems to be related
to setting the field highlight in Javascript, since a simple case in HTML
doesn't reproduce the problem.
The following shows the problem in 1.0.3:
