Details

The XP Copy / Paste acts odd - to those of us used to X cut selection... highlighted text should be copied to a selection buffer so that I can then turn around and paste it without having to explicitly hit 'copy.' As it is now, highlighting text in the browser or in the location field doesn't do anything other than highlighting. In one instance, I highlighted text in the browser and hit 'copy' on the edit menu and successfully pasted to an xterm. I then highlighted another selection and headed for the 'Edit' menu. Copy was greyed, but Paste was available. Nothing else of any use was available. The alt-c combination didn't do anything either. Doesn't seem to reproduce reliably, and did eventually allow the secondary copy, but no obvious connection to the reason could be seen.
This is two bugs. In the future, please file them as seperate bugs. The first half is a duplicate of bug #7787. The second half is a duplicate of bug #14026. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 7787 ***
