It is not necessary to subscribe etc.; just trying to publish unsuccessfully will reproduce the problem. While trying out Mozilla calendar, I had done the following: - publishing to an invalid URL (before figuring out what to put there) - publishing to a webdav server that accepts my username&password but rejects the upload (i.e., no write permissions to the directory) - publishing to an ftp server that rejects my username/password In all the above cases, Mozilla calendar failed to give any indication that an error has occurred. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Sunbird or Mozilla Calendar 2. Enter some events 3. Publish it in a way that will be unsuccessful (e.g., invalid URL, no write permissions, wrong password [ftp only]) Actual Results: The Publish buttons turns into Close, as if the calendar were published successfully. Expected Results: It should display an error message, and the Publish button should not turn into Close.

The first paragraph in the description should read: With the official 20040809 build of calendar for firefox, it seems that failures are never reported.

Confirm, win32.. (OS to All), bump severity, as it can be major (if not critical) to know when a failure occurs.
