User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040803 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040803 Junk mails are sometimes very disturbing things. I missing that functions from junk mail control: - make them read only - run these rules on junk mails (subrules) The junk mail control is everytime working good, but I want to the mailer don't show this items as unreadable. I think that the solution is special rules. The rule is not filter by fields of mail, it is only check the junk state. If it is junk, then we can do anything with it (move, make as read, etc). Another solution is a special rule, that check "incoming to this folder". If a mail incoming (moved) to a folder, this filter rule is get this mail, and can do anything with this mail. Or another solution is a special filter rule, a chainrule. If a rule is hitting a mail, and it is filtered, it is do anything with this mail. If this rule have a subrules (chain), that it is continue the filtering with these subrules. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
What is meant by "read only"? That the message can't be replied to? Can't be forwarded? If the section about rules is looking for a way to filter on junk -- note that currently, the junk processing is done after the user's filters have executed. See bug 223591 and its dependents.
Read only is -> read-ed. Sorry for confusion... I wrote the mail as fast as I can. So: I want to mark mails as read when that is junk. The way you write (filter first, junk filter second) is good, but junk mails are processable only by hand after junk filtering. I can do only "move to junk folder", or I can "delete them". There is possible that these filters are not needed in Mozilla, it is enough if junk mail control have a checkbox to mark as read operation. I disturbed by these mails, I think that is new "interesting" mails arrived - but not...
If you set up Junk Controls to move detected junk to the Junk folder, then you won't get a new-message alert unless there is also legitimate mail. You can also set up Junk Controls to mark the messages as read, but this isn't recommended -- if you see there is unread mail in the Junk folder, you'll remember to check the folder for legitimate mail that was incorrectly detected as Junk. For mail that isn't automatically detected as Junk, the only thing to do is to mark it as junk, which makes the junk filter smarter.
(In reply to comment #3) > You can also set up Junk Controls to mark the messages as read Not quite -- this option is in Mozilla but not in TB. Duping. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 253234 ***
