User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3 If I change the stetting by “Tools>Junk mail controls” and set “mail recognized as junk mail has to go automatically go to the junk folder”. The effect of this change is that all mail recognized as junk mail is marked “Unread” in the junk folder. But the problem is: I don't want to read my junkmail, so it stupid that it is marked unread! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Set the spam filter to automatically move spam to the Junk folder 2. Receive some spam what is automatically is recognized as spam. Actual Results: Mail marked "unread" Expected Results: Give a possibility to automatically mark spam, "read". Why major problem? It is essential for good mail software to view the normal messages. But if the user manually has to mark his junk read that is wasted time.
Note that a patch for bug 193625 has added this capability to Mozilla MailNews. There are actually good reasons to leave the Junk marked unread. And FYI: just because a bug is annoying is not a reason to mark it "major." Note that the duplicate is an Enhancement. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 253234 ***
