User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 0.8 (20040913)
Thunderbird users should be able to use regular expressions when creating
filters. I am a former user of TheBat!, a commercial MUA, and its regex
filtering was _the_ feature that put it ahead of all other GUI mailers.
A recent PCRE engine would be ideal.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hit Tools | Message Filters
2. Hit New...
3. Select the operator pull-down ("contains," "doesn't contain," etc.)
Actual Results:
There is no option for "matches regular expression."
Expected Results:
Offer a "matches regular expression" option.

I'm seeinga lot of "undeliverable/returned mail" spam which tends to have a set
format in the spoofed "from" address. being able to use a regex would mean i
could automate the junking of most of these messges.
