The new google toolbar is really great, but I'm used to the way as mozilla
worked: when typing a URL, with the down arrow I could choose directly search
the web. In firefox, there is not there (OK, when typing in something and
pressing enter, the first site which google finds is loaded, but...)

You could go to about:config and change the value for keyword.URL to whatever
search you want the address bar to perform.
Otherwise, this is probably a wontfix.
