Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1
The version 0.9.x find engine searched correctly in data-entry fields, but the
new version 1.0PR (0.10.1) toolbar will only search the non-writeable parts of
the page. "Highlight" will correctly find and highlight all occurrences of the
desired text in yellow, but the text is not selected.
I actually discovered this bug at http://members.spamcop.net/, but it can be
reproduced at the Mozilla site without having to create a SpamCop account.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Firefox and start a
bug entry.
2. Under "Details" or "Steps to Reproduce", enter some unique text that doesn't
occur elsewhere on the page.
3. Hit Ctrl-F and search for that text.
Actual Results:
The Find toolbar displays "Phrase not found." Clicking Highlight highlights the
text you're looking for.
Expected Results:
The searched-for text should have been selected so I could start typing in the
desired new text.
While we're on the topic, I'd like Ctrl-G or F3 (whatever should be the approved
"Find Next" feature keystroke) to repeat the process, so I can quickly do a
global search-and-replace on a whole page.
