User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041001 Firefox/0.10.1 See summary. Note that it does work when you drag and drop into mspaint. IE is capable of dragging and dropping into photoshop so it's possible. When you drag an image into PS from firefox, it simply brings up the new document dialog. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Load any image or embedded image 2.Attempt to drag that image into photoshop 3.Doing the same thing in IE will load the image sucessfully Actual Results: Brings up new Doc dialog in photoshop Expected Results: loaded the image from a temporary location as it does in mspaint
This problem occurs across many applications and is not exclusive to Photoshop.
(In reply to comment #1) > This problem occurs across many applications and is not exclusive to Photoshop. Thanks, Paul, for that insight. Let me Clarify what George was talking about: The expected behavior for both Mozailla and Firefox is the behavior that "competing" web browsers both exhibit: Drag an image from MSIE to Photoshop, and you are immediately able to edit it (on Win32). Drag an image from Safari to Photoshop, and you are immediately able to edit it (on OS X). This is the expected behavior. What makes this is a bug is the fact that Moz/Firefox is getting the drag handler wrong. It's not a feature request, the feature is broken. It pops the file creation dialog with the image name passed from Moz/Firefox, but the image is blank.
Additionally, the Compenent for this bug should probably be changed to "OS Integration" shouldn't it? "File Handling" deals with save/open issues rather than interapp communication.
There are similar issues on Linux where the receiving app only gets URI data about the dragged image, not the image data itself. If that is the same bug, please set OS:All.
