Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: Firefox 1.0 PR Whe I clicked on the desktop icon for Firefox 1.0 PR *Windows 2000 full Office edition*, a personal profile manager opened instead of the browser, asking to create a personal profile. I went to create a profile, and Firefox caused my computer to screen to go black then to the blue screen of death. I shut the power off to my machine, waited and rebooted, and quickly deleted Firefox from the machine, just in case, did a full virus scan and spybot scan, and found nothing. I had spoken to a few people on various computer forums about this and they mentioned that Mozilla does teh eprsonal profiles, but they haven't heard of Firefox doing it. And the attempted computer crash sounds very suspicious. Is Firefox supposed to be asking to attempt to create personal profiles? Is there some bug int he software that makes the computer try to crash in the blue screen when a user tries to create the profile after being asked to? ~~Debra Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. I did not see a module, the screen just wentblack, then to blue screen of death, saying that it was attempting to dump virtual memory.
I've seen the profile manager come up when there's an invisible firefox process running in Windows XP. I have no clue as to the cause, though. Exiting from the profile manager, killing any remaining firefox processes and starting again results in the expected behaviour.
