Scrolling a message would make Thunderbird automatically display/download (for IMAP servers) the next (or the previous) message of the thread, depending on how messages are sorted or threaded. With IMAP servers, Thunderbird would download only the dislpayed part of the messages, i.e. in "just-in-time" while scrolling. Hidding the quoted parts would be a good idea (like in Gmail). :-) May this bug could be fixed with the Mouses Gestures extensions http://optimoz.mozdev.org/gestures ? Should it be deleted or merge with bug 241197, adding the IMAP features consideration plus ?
