If I download a torrent from this site, it comes with the correct MIMEtype, application/x-bittorrent, and Firefox always asks me what to do. I always tell it to remember. Under Downloads -> FileTypes, it lists it correctly. For some reason, the lack of extension gets it confused.

Note that the Torrent file type is listed as "ORRRENT"
Again note the listing of "ORRENT" instead of "TORRENT"
I confim that this bug exists on firefox 1.0 OSX, and believe that a clue to the bug may be found in the screenshots I have referenced. Namely, that the file type is listed as "ORRENT" instead of "TORRENT". Perhaps not enough characters are allocated for file types? Or perhaps another cause? Still, I believe the errors may be linked. Please look into it...
I confirm this bug as well. .torrent files do not automatically open in BitTorrent even when chosen to do so automatically.
On a related note, some sites open a new blank window/tab along with .torrent download. Needless to say, this is very annoying. Or is there already a bug entry concerning this?
