Other mail programs (especially Outlook) allow to alter the contents of an email and I find this feature almost essencial. I find Thunderbird very good for handling IMAP, but I still depend on Outlook once a month to do cleansing of rubbish and "deattachement" of pictures and other files, before archiving in proper folders. The feature "Edit Message as New" is pretty much the feature requested, if it only would maintain the headers and replace the original email. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
