User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/0.9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/0.9 I've had a user suggest this, and it makes some sense. They tried clicking and dragging the RSS feed icon from the bottom right of Firefox to Thunderbird, and it didn't work. They're not very technical people, so it became somewhat of a chore for them to find the feed URL and add it with a wizard to Thunderbird. Now, I realize this would require work on both products, but I'm opening it here first. Is it possible to get support so we can click and drag around the RSS icon in the bottom right? If that gets done, then the next step would be to add a listener to Thunderbird to receive the RSS feed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
i agree - would be nice to be able to drag RSS icon to bookmarks sidebar for example.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. I also think it should be implemented !!! Or at least a simple way to copy the RSS URL to the clipboard (why not a context menu on the RSS icon, or why not show the full URL when left-clicking on the icon ?). I think it is abnormally difficult to pick a feed from firefox and then subsribe to it un thunderbird. I see 2 ways, both way too complex : 1 - create a live bookmark from the rss icon in FF, edit the bookmarks properties, then copy it and paste it in the TB's wizard, delete the live bookmark in FF 2 - view the page source, find the related RSS feeds URLs, copy it, then paste it into TB's wizard Is there already a shorter way ? If not, something must definately be done about it.
(In reply to comment #3) > Is there already a shorter way ? If not, something must definately be done > about it. Use LiveBookmarkThis 0.3 http://weblog.philringnalda.com/2004/09/21/right-click-add-live-bookmark everything else is more or less planned for FF2.0

I'm wondering if this needs a ui-r first, this doesn't really change the look much does it? Or is a ui-r needed for all changes to the UI?

I think the mentioned RSS feed icon doesn't exist anymore, closing this bug.
