User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) Opera 7.54 [en] Build Identifier: Thunderbird 1.0 RC1 (20041201) If you have an email containing the euro (€) character in Outlook 2003 and you convert it with Thunderbird the result characters converted is: € Also in the same mail appears at the first line the character that I don't know which character correspond to because the first character in the original mail is a "C" letter. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. make an email with Outlook 2003 containing the euro character (tested with a html email) 2. import Tools -> Import Actual Results: the character converted is not the euro character Expected Results: of course correcly convert the euro character

Not all email containing the euro character were badly converted, but I don't know why some have correct euro character, some not, but also in this page I have typed the euro character inside () in the first line and the character changed exactly in the same way, I think it all depends on the characters encoding used.

I'm so sorry, putting UTF-8 and "Fonts->Languages->Apply default to all messages (ignore character coding specified by MIME header)" enabled works for the majority of email, so it isn't a conversion problem. But an email with charset=iso-8859-1; and an euro character doesn't show correct euro character anyway.
