User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 What happened in my case is that when I try to save an image to disk in the first window but just leave it hanging when it asks me where to save it ... in that moment my second window (I specifically mean window not tab.. I haven't tried with tabs) partially hangs .. meaning that it doesn't connect to other websites or show me page properties and has very little functionality . Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start 2 windows of firefox and browse to any page on both of them (diffrent pages or the same it doesn't matter) 2. Click on the first window on an image on the page and select save Image as 3. When the popo up wich asks you where to save appears leave it like that (don't save it) and then go to the seccond window 4. Try to browse another page on the second window or to view the page property/source or whatever and it won't work 5. Go to the first window and save or discard the image and you will see that on the second window it imeadeatly started to do all the things that it was previously instructed to as in surf to anothr page, show you properties and page source or whatever Actual Results: It's all explained in the steps and details Expected Results: I suppose that one window should never interfere with the other no matter what happens (unless of course the whole firefox procces crashes :)) One thing I would like to add is that I've recently installed an addon (developer add on) and I have no idea if it worked fine before. I suspect the problem is still from firefox because I didn't use in this test any buttons related to the developer plugin i've installed

I can reproduce this on todays trunk: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20041219 Firefox/1.0+ It isn't limited to saving an image - when any windows file selector is open in one window other windows are enabled and you can perform actions such as scrolling them, keying in fom values etc. but do not allow links to be followed and many other functions fail. I would expect all windows of the application to be completely inactive whilst a modal dialog is open from any window.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. Because this bug was about to expire ... I retested the behaviour with firefox 1.04 .. and the bug is still there .. I'll try an easier expliantion now. Open a firefox window .. browse to any website .. left click on an image and select "Save As". Now a dialog windows will appear asking for the destination of the saved file... leave this windows and the original firefox window for now and open another firefox window ... try to browse to any website .. or saving any image (if you are already on a website) .. nothing will work in this second window until you go back to the dialog and close it (either by saving the file or clicking cancel).
(In reply to comment #3) > Because this bug was about to expire ... I retested the behaviour with firefox > 1.04 .. and the bug is still there .. I'll try an easier expliantion now. > And in Firefox 1.5 beta 1, which is what the auto-resolve asked for ? That version is base on code that is 1 years newer than yours.
