User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
The firefox.exe process does not close after closing the browser, once more than
one tab has been opened. Many attepts to identify the cause have failed, fresh
install and clean install of firefox, as well as new profiles, have failed to
end the problem. Frequently, after closing the browser and opening Firefox
again later results in the opening of another process, and again and again until
I clean out the processes in Task Manager. If homepage is set to about:blank,
the problem doesn't even require a second tab to be opened. This problem can be
reproduced on this computer most of the time. This PC also runs Windows XP
Tablet PC Edition.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Firefox and open a tab (two or more tabs) to any page, even about:blank.
2. Close Firefox.
3. Process remains.
Actual Results:
firefox.exe process remained open and taking up memory according to Task Manager.
Expected Results:
Process should have terminated and memory returned to Windows.
Currently, default theme, adblock extension & compact menu extension. The
problem can be almost always duplicated regardless of themes and extensions
(have tested with clean install with nothing else installed).

Dupe of bug 239223?
Have tried clean and new profiles & yes, this problem is listed elsewhere on
Bugzilla, though I wanted to show steps to reproduce this on my laptop, which is
also running Windows XP Tablet PC Edition (different from other two pcs in home,
which work fine).
